Websites
https://www.themarginalian.org/ - where writer Maria Popova beautifully and graciously publishes contemplative essays and short excerpts from the inner workings of famous artists, philosophers, writers. Any time I read anything on her site, I feel a little bit lighter and a lot more hopeful for the beauty of the world
https://www.theredhandfiles.com/ - where writer Nick Cave answers questions from “playful to profound,” from folks of all ages and backgrounds. He has some fascinating artwork on there as well.
Fictional Fun & Entertainment
Now that we’ve done some heavy lifting (Great job!), here’s a reminder to make time for recreation and rest. Your energy tank can be easily depleted when you’re on a path of healing, and I know I have been guilty of solely focusing on what has gone wrong in my life that I forget about the goodness that exists right now. Crying is healthy, and so is laughing. Here’s to taking a break and seeking leisure & pleasure for your mind, body, and soul. These are my personal picks/recommendations so do your research and choose according to your taste!
